The RNLI has a network of local fundraising teams organising a wide range of activities and events which last year raised £14 million to save lives at sea. Each Branch and Guild is supported by a Community Fundraising Manager, although the range and frequency of fundraising events is determined by the members themselves.
Getting involved with these activities could offer you an opportunity to improve your CV, meet new people, learn new skills or just have fun with fundraising in your community. Some of our fundraising team members have been volunteering for many years, some just join us for a few months – whatever their commitments allow.
We are currently looking for motivated individuals to assist with our fundraising initiatives and we have a specific vacancy detailed below:
The RNLI Community Fundraising Manager is looking to recruit Volunteer Mayday Collection Co-ordinators to assist in making the 2016 Mayday fundraising campaign a huge success in Edinburgh.
We’re looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals to help the RNLI to raise funds in Edinburgh by getting involved in your local community!
This role would suit somebody who is a good communicator and enjoys organising and using their excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships in the local area. In this role you will responsible for co-ordinating some of the Mayday fundraising events in Edinburgh – just making sure that we have collectors in the right place at the right time!
In order to do this, we will initially be looking for local people to assist over the Mayday period and we would like you to use your local knowledge to recruit new volunteers. This may be individuals, groups or local companies who would be happy to give us anything from 2 hours of their time upwards, to help us ensure that our national Mayday campaign is a huge success.
This project will involve reaching out to the local community and although you will be home based, you will also have the opportunity of spending time with the Community Fundraising Manager to ensure that you have the required information and understanding to take the project forward. Throughout the project the community Fundraising Manager will be close at hand to assist you in your endeavours.
