Role Title: Volunteer Fundraiser
Time Commitment: Duration: 2/3 days a week for 6 months, commencing end of May 2015
Location: Volunteer will be based in THET's London office within the Royal Society of Medicine
THET is a global health organisation that educates, trains and supports health workers through partnerships, working to improve the health of people in Africa and Asia.
The Fundraising volunteer will provide administrative support to the fundraising team, which covers trusts and foundations, individual giving and events, so you will gain insight in to various fundraising disciplines and how to create a successful fundraising mix.
THET's volunteers and interns provide essential support to our work. The fundraising volunteer will be working on an exciting new area of fundraising for THET and will have the chance to give high-level contribution to the research and identification of leading business schools and health-related corporate organisations.
What is in it for the volunteer?
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to gain or enhance their fundraising skills and experience, while working for a leading International Development charity. You will report to the Fundraising Manager and we'll support you every step of the way with advice and mentoring.
This is an unpaid position but reasonable travel (up to £10 a day) and lunch expenses will be provided.
The role would suit a recent graduate, with a strong interest in international development. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can commit at least 2/3 days per week for 6 months.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience using fundraising databases (Raisers Edge/ Salesforce)
- Excellent Attention to detail
- Strong research skills
- Strong proposal writing skills
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Basic understanding of issues in International Development
