Volunteer female counsellor for the East London projects.
Woman’s Trust is a counselling service for women affected by domestic violence.
Our requirements are that counsellors need to be in personal therapy for 1 year minimum, follow the Person-Centred/Humanistic approach, be in their second year of a Diploma course and have one year experience of working with clients (30 supervised client hours or equivalent experience).
We are always interested in counsellors who have a commitment to this area of work.
Woman's Trust has an application process for counsellors interested in placements - counsellors are able to work in East London (Newham, Tower Hamlets, Redbridge, Greenwich, Havering, Barking & Dagenham and Waltham Forest) at different times. Very limited evening times are also available.
Please note, because of the needs of women using our service, the minimum commitment is 4 clients per week. Successful candidates will also need to be able to attend Woman's Trust 2 hrs supervision on a fortnightly basis and a 3-day induction training.
The deadline for the application is Sunday 31st January 2016 midnight; Interviews will be on the week of the 8th of January and the training dates are: 17th, 18th and 19th February 2016
Please note: There will be a £150 charge (deposit) for any applicants attending the 3 day training dates. This deposit will be refunded at the end of the placement.
If making the deposit is difficult for you, please let us know. Alternative arrangements can be made.
The Equality Act 2010 pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1 applies
We particularly welcome applicants from the LGBT community, over 50's, counsellors able to work in other languages and counsellors with flexible schedule.
More intakes are set during the years and applications will be accepted outside these times.
Please note that a CV will be not be accepted.
