|Job Title||Volunteer Crew Member - Inshore Lifeboat - Dunbar, East Lothian - EXPIRED|
|Location||Dunbar, East Lothian|
|Job Published||10 Jun 2015|
|Contact Name||Volunteers team|
The RNLI's Lifeboat Station in Dunbar is looking to hear from anyone in the community who would be interested in volunteering for the RNLI as Volunteer All Weather Lifeboat, or Inshore Lifeboat Crew members, to join its existing team.
All of the crew members are volunteers and many will say that it's a way of life and will testify that you get out what you put in! Given the nature of life-boating the pager can go off at any time of the day or night therefore, there is often an element of unsociable hours. Being a lifeboat crew member means you're available to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week and committing to an extensive RNLI training program which will turn you into a lifeboat crew member is all part of the deal!
All of our crew follow the RNLI's national Competency Based Training Scheme and will provide you with first class training and support to ensure that you have everything that you need to help us save lives at sea!
The station now needs new volunteer lifeboat crew members - ALB & ILB to join the team at Dunbar.
No previous maritime experience needed.
Must live or work in Dunbar.
This is a great opportunity to join a motivated, fun and enthusiastic local team whilst meeting new people within your community. You will have the satisfaction of helping to save lives at sea whilst all of the time you are building on skills and experience within a leading national charity. Come and see us at the Station on Sunday 14th June 2015 between 12 noon and 4pm and find out more about these exciting opportunities.
This is a volunteer opportunity within the RNLI. RNLI volunteers are people who, unpaid and of their own free will, contribute their time, energy and skills to support the purposes of the RNLI. RNLI volunteers may perform a variety of tasks and duties, under direction and guidance, using their skills, knowledge and time to help the RNLI best achieve its objectives.
We respect and honour our volunteers by building trust and understanding. Such a partnership is not intended to be a legally binding contract or to have mutuality of obligation, but instead express a voluntary two-way commitment where everyone gains satisfaction from being part of our organisation.
