emerge poverty free is a UK based international development charity. We work with local partners in East Africa to address poverty-related challenges, with the vision that one day the local communities will be empowered to emerge poverty free.

We are a small, friendly and dynamic team governed by a Trustee Board which is keen to help, oversee and advise the effective working of the charity.

The next five years will be both exciting and challenging for the organisation as it plans to reach out to more vulnerable people and help them start on their journey out of poverty.

Our small staff team is passionate about empowering people to change their lives and we are seeking ever more effective ways to do this through local partner organisations.

emerge poverty free aims to support its local partners' project delivery by experience sharing, with guidance in project management as well as financial governance. We aim to make sure donors' money is well used and the benefits of the projects are measurable.

There are currently opportunities for four new Trustees to join the five current Trustees on emerge poverty free's Board. Whilst not essential, we are particularly seeking candidates who are from an East Africa diaspora or have lived and worked in East Africa and/or have a active Christian faith.

The particular skill sets we are seeking for candidates to fill are:
*Fundraising - knowledge and experience of a wide range of charity fundraising approaches including individual giving, events, legacy fundraising and corporate fundraising.
*International Development and Projects - including design, programme management, monitoring, learning, research and evaluations. An additional benefit would be a good understanding of education, livelihoods or gender related projects.
*Marketing - A background in marketing for small organisations including creative approaches, social media and raising of brand awareness raising.
