One person in five in the UK is affected by lung disease; more than 12 million people across the UK. As the only UK charity for people affected by all lung and respiratory disease, from mild asthma through to lung cancer, the British Lung Foundation (BLF) is leading the fight against lung disease by providing support, funding vital research, and campaigning for better prevention, treatment and care. They have made a huge impact in recent years with a successful campaign to ban smoking in cars with children and in funding new research into mesothelioma.
The BLF are now seeking two Trustees (Fundraising and Finance skills) to join their Board. A solid track record in fundraising, income-generation or business development to help lead a step-change in fundraising at a strategic level is key. The Finance Trustee will bring strong financial experience and business planning skills, the ability to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences and ideally have knowledge of the voluntary sector charity SORP.
