We are currently working with a leading national literacy charity to find a Schools Engagement Manager to work with schools, local authorities, education consortia and other partners in Wales to ensure the organisation's schools programmes and achieve high levels of impact.
As someone who has had experience working in Welsh schools either as a teacher or in a role which requires knowledge of the Welsh education sector and developments within the schools arena with specific focus on the Foundation Phase and Literacy and Numeracy Framework, you will be delivering a national outreach and engagement programme, designing and developing resources and providing operational support to schools and families throughout Wales.
You will be familiar with government initiative and legislation relating to the education sector in Wales as well as have had experience in creating high quality educational resources for children, practitioners and parents in a range of formats.
This role will be based the organisation's Wales office in Cardiff Bay, working in a small team (currently three members) and will involve regular travel across Wales, including overnight stays so you will require use of a car for which generous mileage rates will be paid. You will also be required to visit the head offices in London regularly, approximately twice a quarter.
This role suits a fluent Welsh speaker. However, we also invite applications from interested Welsh learners committed to improving their language skills.
The role will be part time (4days per week) and is a permanent appointment, subject to funding, but we are open to applications for a fixed term (academic year) from suitably qualified individuals, including those who may be able to secure a secondment or sabbatical from their current employer
