A globally recognised professional membership body and awarding organisation based in New Malden, near Wimbledon are recruiting for a full time, Product Development Manager for Short courses.
The Product Development Manager will be responsible for the market research, design and development of all new short course programmes, including related Training and Membership services. You will need to balance twin strategic aims of driving up the development of quality vocational short courses and member services while generating new revenue streams.
You will provide expert knowledge to internal colleagues and external clients. Robust research on market needs (B2C and B2B) is a must in addition to tapping into the knowledge of an expert pool of academic colleagues to ensure expansion is in line with the organisation's vision and maximises commercial impact.
Main responsibilities will include:
*Identifying training and development needs within client organisations or specified target markets
*Designing and expanding a range of training and development programmes
*Considering the costs of planned programmes and keeping within budgets as assessing the return on investment of any training or development programme is important;
*Producing training materials for an organisation's in-house courses;
*Managing the delivery of training and development programmes including devising a training strategy for the organisation;
*Evaluating training and development programmes- amending and revising programmes as necessary
*Having an understanding of e-learning techniques, and being involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages and researching new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and presenting this research.
*Evaluating the further and higher education market for innovative new products and services in the short course arena
*Managing a portfolio of short course products, reviewing them and where necessary revising, updating and when appropriate deleting those which are unprofitable
*Planning, overseeing and implementing research to identify customer/market needs and to support the rationale for product development and positioning within the marketplace to improve product portfolio and profitability
*Managing and developing a range of external consultants who can support and aid with short course design and delivery
Essential criteria for the role includes:
*You will be a successful Product/Training Manager or L&D Consultant with a proven background in re-launching, rationalising and developing new products within the Awarding Body or Higher/ Further Education College sector.
*You will need to be an innovator with the ability to use creativity and initiative to bring fresh ideas and a new mode of thinking to the role with expert knowledge and experience of training design and assessment developments to meet business needs.
*You will be able to demonstrate a clear entrepreneurial drive, evidence meeting and/or exceeding challenging targets for growth and expansion through the effective design and delivery of marketing, communication and business development plans. Ideally, this will include experience of developing short courses for international markets.
*Be commercially aware; ensure that products can be developed and marketed profitably.
