About the charity
Our client a leading specialist within the mental health sector and therapeutic services is working in partnership with the local authority and hospital trust to deliver a crisis service for people struggling with emergency mental health issues in the local community.
The service works in conjunction with the local A&E department but is solely there to support people with a mental health issue. What do they do? Well, they conduct specialist mental status examinations and assessment and sign post patient to additional services in order for them to receive the full support they need.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join their small team of clinical staff and support workers and be the main lead of the sessions. You will be assessing each patient that is referred from A&E by working in a therapeutic way in order to ascertain what their needs are, in order for you to sign post to the relevant professionals.
You will report into the Clinical Services Manager and be responsible for a small team of support workers (3) and you will work collaboratively with the clinical lead who works directly for the NHS.
The role is part time as the service is designed to offer an out of hours support stream. The working hours will be Monday – Thursday 5:30pm – 9:30pm and Saturdays 11:30am – 4:30pm
To be considered for this great opportunity and be a part of a new initiative you will need to have a strong background working as a mental health practitioner coupled with a relevant degree or equivalent qualification. You will have a good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and be solution focused at all times. Due to the nature of the job you will need to be responsive, caring and calming, be fun and dynamic but resilient too. It is also important that you have and can demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills as you will be managing many external relationships with other professionals.
