Job Description - EXPIRED

About the opportunity

We would like someone to set up and run a men's activity group which will draw local men to the Springfield Project.

There is lots of flexibility as to what kind of group; perhaps walking football, snooker, indoor cricket, fishing, 'men and sheds' bike repair, motorbike repair, photography etc etc. You would have lots of potential to design your own group, alongside support from the rest of the team. The role could be shared by a couple of men together too.

We would be happy to have conversations about whether this is for you.

This is part of the Neighbour Scheme. The Neighbour Scheme is an exciting new project which brings local people together in activities to promote wellbeing. We are working with 6 local GP practices who refer people into our services.

About The Springfield Project

The Springfield Project is a Birmingham-based charity with a passion for our local community. We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming space in which people from diverse backgrounds can meet and receive support.

The Project developed from St Christopher's Church's commitment to supporting families in the local area and sharing God's love in our community.

We work in partnership with Birmingham City Council to deliver children's centre services providing activities and support for families with children under 5.

We run the Neighbour Scheme, a social prescription project between local GPs and the Springfield Project, working to reduce isolation and improve the mental wellbeing of adults referred by their GP or self-referred.

What are they looking for?

We are looking for a man who is innovative, with energy and enthusiasm. He does not need to be very extroverted as long as he has good interpersonal skills; a people person.

The ability to speak community languages (Urdu, Mirpuri, Bengali, Punjabi, Hindi, Arabic and Romanian) is desirable but not required.

Practical Considerations

This role will be for running men's activities so a male applicant would be preferred.

Reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed if required.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please email Rosalyn Clare at saying why you would be a good person for the role, as well as your post code.
