Would you like to offer some of your time to help educate children in the Herefordshire and South Wales area in beach safety?

The RNLI is committed to educating children and to motivating a new generation of potential supporters and lifesavers. We are looking for a number of volunteers who are enthusiastic and have an interest in giving presentations and volunteering with young people. You will have the opportunity to meet new people, utilise your existing skills and gain new skills and experience.

The role will be to deliver short interactive beach safety sessions to small groups of year 6 children as well as to nurture their understanding of the RNLI and the role it plays within our community. These 'Crucial Crew Events' will last for approximately 2 or 3 weeks and run from 9.30 to 14.30 including a lunch break.

Events planned so far for 2015 include:
*Hereford Racecourse 15 to 22 June
*Margam Park, South Wales 15 to 22 June
*Rhondda, Cynon, Taff - dates TBC
*Caerphilly - dates TBC
*Vale Of Glamorgan - dates TBC
*Blaenau Gwent - dates TBC
*Pembrokshire - dates TBC

No previous experience is required as training on beach safety and the RNLI will be provided.

Our aim is to save lives with a proactive approach to sea/ beach safety issues as well as raise awareness of the RNLI amongst young people within Herefordshire and South Wales. Hours of volunteering would coincide with the crucial crew events and full training, resources and out of pocket expenses are provided.

With a volunteering commitment to the RNLI your contribution really will make a difference in reducing the number of incidents involving children.
