TPP's client a leading charity organisation which provides services for unpaid carers of all ages is currently recruiting for a Health and Well-Being Officer. You will play a principal role in being the first point of contact for local professionals from the local authority, health services, CCGS, GPs, voluntary sector and other relevant statutory agencies.
The post-holder will be actively developing new contacts with these organisations and linked service user groups, build upon existing partnerships with these organisations and developing partnerships across professionals.
Our client is based in Berkshire, where there are over 75,000 unpaid adult carers in Berkshire and an estimated 63,000 young carers are looking after someone with age frailty, disability, addiction or illness. The role of the Health and Well-being Officer will form part of a team delivering a new project funded by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. Its main aim is to ensure services and support is available to carers to enable them to remain healthy & active, and to managing their family caring role(s).
The successful postholder will have working experience of understanding the issues unpaid carers face specifically health & well-being issues. You will have a strong understanding of the primary grants and welfare benefits relevant to carers, respite care options and schemes, and the main changes for carers arising from the Care Act 2015.
Another key aspect of the post is having excellent communication skills. You will be required to network with GPs and wider health, rehabilitation & pharmacy services to ensure health needs of carers are being met though GP carer registration schemes, access to carer health-checks and carer signposting in to Berkshire Carers Service. This, further, links to having strong IT skills in order to complete the relevant tasks at hand.
The position will suit someone who has good knowledge of the range of issues unpaid carers face and is passionate about delivering a high quality support service and providing access to appropriate information and advice to improve and make a difference to their health & well -being and the caring role.
