We're delighted to be working with one of the world's most influential charities to recruit a brand new position for 2015 - Head of Gifts in Wills.
This position was created as the legacies team at this organisation has expanded dramatically in the last year and the post-holder will be responsible for leading an already highly successful team which generated £3.5m in 2013. Our client is looking for an exceptional manager who can ensure that the team's success isn't just maintained, but improves year on year.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented legacies fundraiser to truly make their mark on a very well-respected organisation and transform a key component of the charity's fundraising operations, making sure that its efficiently managed and effectively marketed both internally and externally in order to guarantee its long-term development.
Key responsibilities include:
*Maximising the potential of legacy income for the charity by making sure that the legacy pipeline is appropriately managed and that prospective gifts are effectively cultivated
*Line management of the Gifts in Wills Managers, ensuring that individual objectives and targets are met and that development opportunities are identified and taken
*Managing the recruitment of future talent to the team, making sure that all new members possess the right skills and are a right match for the charity's culture and work ethic
*To devise and deliver an integrated legacy fundraising strategy which aligns with the charity's broader fundraising strategy
*Collaborate with senior stakeholders internally - including the Fundraising Strategic Leadership Team and the Strategic Leadership Group - to make sure that legacies fundraising is incorporated into all future strategies, where relevant
*Work very closely and collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies to guarantee that all marketing collateral is produced to the highest standards to maximise the impact of legacy income generation
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
*Efficiency and effectiveness: the ability to meet conflicting deadlines while managing team members in order to ensure that performance is maximised and, therefore, objectives achieved
*Outstanding leadership acumen: the ability to lead from the front and inspire a supportive, positive working environment in which all team members feel valued and involved
*Exceptional communication skills, able to convey very complex ideas to a broad range of audiences using a variety of different methods and anticipate the future needs and wants of various audience types
*Innovative thinking and creativity, able to contribute ideas, approaches and insights that enable innovation across not just the legacies team, but also the wider charity
*A proven track record in fundraising with substantial experience of legacy marketing and managing large budgets while delivering income against challenging targets and timescales
