This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly prestigious university at the final stage of a £6million appeal to restore a prominent public building in Central London.
The post-holder will be directly responsible for raising the final £1.3million from corporate partners, individual donors and grant-making bodies needed to complete the renovation. You'll need to be confident that you can hit the ground running and achieve results in a short time frame but, because of the strength of this university's network and the portfolio of donors who are already backing the appeal, this fixed term role should prove a challenging yet manageable project.
*Develop relationships with potential individual and local corporate donors through tailored approaches and face-to-face solicitation
*Develop relationships with grant-making trusts, charitable foundations, government funds, companies and other bodies and raise charitable income by making written applications
*Work with the Prospect Research Officer to identify other sources of income for the appeal and prioritise approaches to prospective donors
*Undertake stewardship activities to ensure that all commitments made to donors are met and that they are appropriately thanked for their support
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
*Proven experience in successfully soliciting financial support from individual and/or corporate funders
*Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with stakeholders at all levels of seniority
*Experience in making applications to major trusts, foundations and other grant-making bodies
*Good working knowledge of fundraising and understanding of the fundraising process
*Ability to gain confidence, respect and co-operation of senior internal and external stakeholders
*Ability to think creatively
Closing date: Monday 17 November 2014
