Position: Fundraising Intern

Time commitment: 3-6 months

MyBnk are an award-winning education charity working with young people to build the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their money effectively and make enterprising choices throughout their lives. We have so far reached more than 100,000 young people through our finance and enterprise programmes.

The MyBnk Internship Programme gives you the opportunity to take on real responsibilities, allowing you to use the skills you have and develop new ones. You will be an integral part of a young, dynamic and award winning team and will gain first hand insight into how a charity works. MyBnk has excellent networks and relationships with other third sector organisations making our Internship Programme a fantastic stepping stone into a career in the charitable sector. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Research, identify, and support funding applications to corporate donors, Trusts & Foundations, statutory bodies and major donors.
  • Be working towards the Income team’s funding and pipeline targets.
  • Help the Income team sustain strong relationships with funders, reporting back to them on MyBnk’s work.
  • Assist with client care and record keeping.
  • Conduct research and learn about key factors in the field of fundraising.
  • Potentially have opportunities to write parts of funding bids.
  • Spend one day a week assisting the Quality and Training team with the development of a new website and monitoring and evaluation of MyBnk’s programmes.

Person specification:

You must:

  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Be highly organised, pay attention to detail and have the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Have the ability to prioritise, multi-task and work to deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Be passionate about MyBnk’s aims and objectives and committed to working within a small and growing team that goes the extra mile.
  • Be comfortable and confident in your ability to forge relationships quickly and effectively.
  • Have an understanding of database and spreadsheet based programmes such as Excel.
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK.


  • An interest in fundraising / income generation
