An inspirational, national charity which works to transform the lives of vulnerable children and young people are looking for a Construction Tutor on a part time basis in a brand new project they are starting throughout London with to become full time and permanent over the next few months as the programme continues to grow.
This role is to start as soon as possible. The role will be part of their new Study Programme in vocational skills, and be tutoring up to 30 16-20year olds in their Level1&2 City and Guilds Construction Skills covering multiskills.
The main Construction Tutor sites are based in Crystal Palace and in Tower Hamlets, but you may have to travel throughout London visiting students on site to liaise with employers, conduct assessments and carry out Risk Assessments in places of work.
Main duties for Construction Tutor/ Training Supervisor will include:
Teaching up to 30 16-20year olds the various elements of the construction trade
Planning, delivering and assessing (currently) up to Level2 City and Guilds requirements
Working in partnership with external agencies and employers.
The young people that will be involved in the project come from a variety of backgrounds and have been recommended through agencies such as schools, probation boards, multiagencies, so an ability to work with challenging young people would be an advantage.

Criteria for the Construction Tutor:
PTTLs/ DTTLs qualification is desirable- if not held then training can be provided on the job
Must hold a CSCS Card
5years minimum experience on a building site, or from a multiskills or trade background who can be developed to learn new skills and deliver them to students
Must be willing to undertake a DBS check or hold a current DBS
Experience of working with young people within a vocational/ education setting.
Recent experience of working in the appropriate vocational sector.
Experience of working with young people who exhibit challenging behaviour.
Experience of delivering & assessing qualifications, up to and including Apprenticeships.
Be able to differentiate needs according abilities.
