A fledgling organisation who are just over a year old are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager with a proven track record in developing relationships with employers and growing funding and contracts to expand their impact in the local community with work based learning and apprenticeship opportunities.
Based in Harrow, this training organisation currently works mainly with adults offering work based learning in English and Maths, but are also looking to grow their apprenticeship offering to 16-18year olds.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for:
Pro-actively securing new business through appropriate and timely tendering, canvassing and subcontracting and prime contracting opportunities
Identifying new funding opportunities (e.g. LEPs) that can be used to support delivery of training to employers and on occasion lead the bid process
Managing and supporting the existing and new customer base, from the initial contact, through to securing client agreement to commence training, to monitoring successful customer management
Developing new business through employers links
Joining and initiating Consortiums for bid tender process
Effectively promoting company opportunities, including bespoke and scheduled courses, work based activity, apprenticeships and project driven opportunities of the company, and translate these into viable sales which also need the customer business needs
Being conversant with any updates to the recruitment strategy from the SFA, ESF and DWP ensuring that sales and recruitment are undertaken in line with specified time frames to ensure contract compliance
Developing and delivering local initiatives to improve employer engagement such as hosting marketing events.
Representing the organisation at external events, or employer networking events to promote the company where required.
Essential criteria for this role include:
Proven track record of successful business development within the training industry
Knowledge of ESF / EFA / DWP and SFA funding is a must
Significant experience in a similar role, including developing sales leads and customer relationships
Excellent communication, networking, interpersonal and presentation skills
Advantage to have own transport
This organisation is at a stage of growth and offers a salary of around £35k (this can be negotiated for the right candidate). This is subject to regular reviews based on outcomes and also they are looking to put in place a commission structure for this post based on results.
