Assistant Director (Development) - (Director level role)
£63,733 per annum
About the National Army Museum
The Museum holds the premier collection of material relating to the British Army, and tells the story of the British Army at home and abroad from the earliest times through to the present day. The Museum is based in Chelsea, and is on the brink of completing its biggest re-development in over 40 years with the culmination of a £25 million rebuild backed by an extensive capital fundraising campaign.
About the role
With the doors to the Museum soon to re-open, this will be a new chapter for the Museum Development team. You will join a collaborative Senior Management Team, and take the lead on all fundraising initiatives across the Museum. You will be responsible for developing strategy and plans to support future development, and manage a small team of staff tasked with securing grants, sponsorship, donations and legacies. You will be building on the successes of the recent capital fundraising campaign, and in the early stages of this role, the development department will have a particular focus on developing a successful Membership Scheme.
The Museum is looking for a high calibre individual with demonstrable experience of operating in a senior and autonomous role as part of an Executive Team. You will have a proven track record of networking and influencing at the highest level, experience developing and implementing sustainable fundraising strategies, and experience of researching and developing a portfolio of major donors. You will be a self-starter with an ability to work to deadlines and an ability to think strategically. You will also have an interest in and empathy with the British Army and military, and a commitment to the mission of the Museum.
