Solace Women's Aid is an independent charity providing services to women and children who have been victims of domestic and /or sexual violence.
The purpose of the role is to assist with a variety of activities assisting the refuge workers and service users as, attending appointment with SUs and assisting with day to day tasks as required. This is a varied role which helps service users and enhances the service within the refuge.
Skills and experience required: Life experience, common sense, interest in DV and how it impacts on women and children, good with people. No formal training is given for this role; however full support will be given to help volunteers understand and carry out any aspect of the role as appropriate
Expenses policy: We reimburse travel costs and cover out of pocket expenses ie lunch costs
Commitment: Between 1 and 3 days per week for at least 3 months
Location: Haringey Refuge
Due to the nature of this organisation, only female volunteers can be considered.
