This central London based homeless charity that provides shelter as well as outreach activities and specialist support to thousands of people a year is recruiting for a Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser to secure and maximise income from key major trusts, lottery and statutory sources by managing existing and potential new funders through projects and applications.
The main duties of the role will include;
- Maintain the current schedule of applications to existing supporters
- Develop, write and implement creative proposals for funding ensuring applications are tailored
- Develop a list of prospective new funders through research and develop a programme of applications appropriate to the organisations needs
- Ensure all records and databases are accurately maintained and kept up to date
- Create and update a schedule of approaches showing sizes, decision dates and reporting deadlines for applications
- Contribute to strategic and financial development as required and participate fully in team meetings, events and initiatives
- Maintaining an accurate record of the number of applications made, successful approaches and rejections that can be presented
- Attend internal and external training courses as required to met changes in the sector
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;
- Substantial experience working in a trust and statutory fundraising role
- Demonstrable ability in generating and growing income from trusts, foundations and statutory sources
- Proven track record of securing major grants £50k+ from lottery, trusts or statutory
- Budget management skills with experience in project management
- IT literate with working knowledge of fundraising databases such as Raisers Edge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and creative applications and work with a wide range of audiences
- Proven ability to develop and manage successful relationships with key individuals and build an effective network of contacts
