Supporter Relations Administrative Volunteer – BEN Motor and Allied Trades

A national charity, BEN provides care and support for anyone who works or has worked in the automotive and related industries and this provision also extends to dependants. BEN provides friendship, advice, emotional support and financial assistance to more than 15 000 people living in their own homes throughout the UK and Ireland. We also run four nursing and residential centres across the country, providing a home to more than 350 people of different ages and needs.

A volunteer is needed in a busy office environment, located in the charity’s Head Office, to carry out a range of administrative duties utilising the Microsoft Office suite of programs and other software packages.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

- Adding payroll mandate information onto the appropriate excel spreadsheet
- Filing of mandates
- Sorting cancelled and active mandates using bespoke software packages.
- Any other tasks as required by the Supporter Relations Manager.

Volunteer specification:

- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Must be able to process data accurately
- Fine attention to detail is crucial
- Friendly with a good sense of humour
- Ability to pick up software packages quickly
- Able to work independently for long periods of time.
- Happy to conduct some basic, but essential, office work that may be mundane at times.

We would ideally like a commitment of half a day, for two days of the week. (Between the hours of 9:00 – 3:00pm on any day between Monday- Thursday).
We would ideally like the applicant to commit to 3 months of volunteering with the opportunity to extend this period after this period.

In-house training based on the skills necessary in order to carry out the task. (Sage and Microsoft Excel)
Ongoing support from BEN Staff.

Reasonable travel expenses incurred during the period of volunteering.
Any other as agreed with the Head of Supporter Relations.
