British ORT is the UK arm of World ORT, the world’s largest Jewish education and training charity. Currently operating in 56 countries, ORT helps vulnerable communities to become self-sufficient by educating and training their members in the skills they need for life.
British ORT has an exciting new fundraising internship that will offer you the opportunity to gain hands on fundraising experience and play a meaningful role in its UK offices.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and eloquent fundraiser, willing to work with our dynamic and dedicated team to raise funds in support of ORT’s educational projects worldwide.
The internship is for three months, beginning June 2012
Job Description
Working alongside the Director, you will be involved in researching potential donors
and trusts
You will be writing and submitting funding proposals to trusts potentially interested in
ORT’s work
You will help develop and maintain links with potential donors
Working with British ORT staff, you will help organise and support exciting
fundraising events
Skills Required
Essential:
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Good computing skills including Word, Excel and Databases
An ability to work on your own initiative and with minimal supervision
Good team working skills
Enthusiasm, dedication and a willingness to have fun!
Desirable:
Experience in fundraising
A knowledge of the British Jewish Community
