Service Manager

Our client based in East London is a registered charity offering high quality services to local residents seeking mental health advice and support. The aim is to promote positive mental health and to enable people with mental health issues to live successfully and independently in the community.
They are looking for a Service Manager to work within one of their lodges.
Main Duties
To be responsible for all aspects of staff management including recruitment, induction and training.
To facilitate regular staff meetings for all staff and ensure safe staffing levels at all times. To ensure policies and practices are adhered to, ensure that risk assessments are carried out and participate in disciplinary and grievance investigations.
To be responsible for overseeing work undertaken with service users, ensure that recovery and rehabilitation principles are applied, such as behaviour Therapy, train staff in evidence-based therapeutic techniques and encourage and develop active participation of service users in the running of the lodge.
Develop effective liaison with statutory and voluntary agencies in the community, facilitate a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and ensure the centre is run in according to its aims and objectives and to review these aims.
Take responsibility for developing an annual project plan and for promoting our client.
Deal with any complaints or incidents, be responsible for the control and recording of petty cash, ensure health and safety is maintained and maintain and service the Service User Group.
General Duties
To attend and participate in quarterly meetings, liaise with other projects and staff, contribute to the writing and development of the Vision, Philosophy, Aims and Objectives. Attend supervision, appraisal meetings and training courses, be administratively self-servicing and cover the work of colleagues during periods of absences as appropriate.
Person Specification
Essential- Minimum of five years working with vulnerable adults, two of which must be within a mental health setting
A minimum of two years management and supervision experience
The ability to offer evidence based practices to clients with severe and enduring mental health issues.
A sound understanding of the mental health service
A professional mental health qualification i.e. Social Work, Counselling, Psychotherapy, OT, Nursing
A sound understanding of legislation, key issues relating to housing, health and safety, social policy, education and employment. Excellent verbal and communication skills are required.
Good negotiation and planning skills, excellent numerical skills for budgeting and managerial skills and experience are required for this role as Service Manager.
