Retail Assistant – Ipswich
CLIC Sargent
CLIC Sargent is a Cancer Charity that cares for Children and Young People across the UK.
Cards for Good Causes is a joint charity initiative that operates a national network of charity Christmas cards shops during the Christmas trading period (October – December 2010).
CLIC Sargent has been selected to sell Christmas cards in their outlets across the UK, and we need volunteers to support this fantastic opportunity!
Volunteers usually work in pairs and work alongside the shop manager. The role can include some or all of the following:
Operating a simple till, for which training is given
Processing payments for the cards and goods
Re-stocking the card boxes
Assisting in the shop by keeping the card boxes, displays and Christmas goods tidy and attractive
For this role you will need good customer service skills, retail experience would be useful but not essential for this role as full training and support will be provided.
From this role you will gain essential retail experience and know that the time you give will enable CLIC Sargent to raise even more money for children and families affected by cancer. Most volunteers return to the shop every year as they enjoy volunteering to support the many charities and working with a great team of people
The majority of shops divide the day into 2 sessions: mornings (10am – 1pm) and afternoons (1pm – 4pm) for the 6 to 8 weeks that the shop is open (October – December 2010). Volunteers are asked to do 1 session once a week at a time and day convenient to you. They can reimburse your out of pocket expenses.
You will be based at TIC, St Stephens Church, St Stephens Lane, Ipswich, IP1 1DP.
