
Reception Manager
Our client is a large 8 Partner NHS GP Practice based in North West London and are seeking a highly organised and dependable Reception Manager to join their newly structured administration team.
Main purpose of the role:
The primary function of the role is to manage, develop and orchestrate the front and back office reception team whilst providing top customer care and service to their patients. The successful candidates will need to demonstrate the highest standards of management skills, customer care and be able to communicate effectively and be part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
Duties:
- Manage and direct staff working as Practice Service Professionals in reception front and back office.
- Play a key role in the practice management team and dynamically deal with patient enquiries and follow-ups in the reception area to managing the balance of staff between the various reception functions.
- Act as the primary point of contact in reception for clinicians
- Ensure that the primary objective of providing excellent levels of patient service permeates the whole team.
- Deal with adequate levels of staffing, training and supervising reception staff. Help recruit new staff and carry out staff appraisals.
- Support staff in difficult patient situations
- Contact patients to improve the service given and ensure timely responses to appointments, immunisations etc
- Attend practice meetings and training courses and participate in educational and learning activities.
- Support practice policies and protocols, including health and safety and infection control.
Skills/Experience:
- Well educated or vocational qualifications
- Strong team player with management or supervisory skills
- Genuinely passionate about patient/customer service
- Able to prioritise and handle urgent matters tactfully with utmost importance given to customer service
- Motivational and able to multi-task and perform under stressful situations with a can-do attitude
- Experience of EMIS LV and the ability to train staff would be a great advantage
- Have a good knowledge of MS Word and Excel
- Demonstrate tact, diplomacy and tolerance at all times, as well as resilience when needed
Location: North West London
Salary: £21,000 - £26,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
