Part Time Major Gifts Manager

This leading human rights organisation is recruiting for a part time Major Gifts Manager to undertake a 12 month interim role. The post holder will be responsible for implementing new major donor partnerships as well as develop and manage key areas of the programme. The Major Gifts Manager will work with some high profile, senior figures and will take responsibility for securing major gifts of upwards of £50,000.

The main duties of the role will include;

- Manage a portfolio of individual major donors and prospects to maximise income potential and result in gifts in excess of £50,000
- Assist in the implementation of the fundraising principles across the organisation
- Work with other senior members to develop the high net worth individual's global fundraising strategy and income targets
- Build and manage beneficial relationships with other teams who support the major donor programme to maximise all opportunities.
- To manage a significant proportion of the charity's income from individuals as well as forecasting and expenditure budget
- Undertake and commission prospect research into individual major donor prospects
- When required create and deliver new major gifts events and products for cultivation

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;

- Experience of fundraising from individuals and proven ability to generate significant income from high net worth individuals
- Good knowledge of major donor campaigns and direct marketing techniques
- Demonstrable ability to develop fundraising appeals and make face to face asks
- Project management skills including planning, managing external suppliers and running high level solicitation events
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to approach all levels
- Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, emails and fundraising databases
- Ability to construct and manage income and expenditure budgets
- Flexible attitude, willing to work unsocial hours and stay away overnight as required
