In 1974, musician and composer, Jo Collins, met Mary Ward, a teacher and director. With a shared belief in harnessing the creativity in everyone and anyone, they started a theatre company. In a chicken shed.

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer Administrator to work 15 hours a week for the Chickenshed Kensington & Chelsea Business Manager. This is an unpaid position but offers the opportunity to nurture and evolve an exciting new job role.
The main purpose of the job is to provide effective administrative support to the Chickenshed Kensington and Chelsea Business Manager and the KC Committee. To manage and maintain database and systems for the Business Manager and Committee. Also, to carry out further organisational duties where appropriate.

Duties to include:
- To support the Business Manager by setting up and maintaining administrative processes
- To provide effective communication between the Business Manager and the Committee
- To deal with requests for information with regards to events, fundraising packs etc
- To manage telephone, e-mail and written correspondence, for the Business Manager in accordance with Chickenshed Policy and procedures
- To organize mail outs and other communications with supporters etc
- After training, to liaise with the Database Manager to input information on Chickenshed Kensington and Chelsea fundraising projects in consultation with both the Business Manager and Database Manager
- To support the Business Manager by researching potential fundraising opportunities in Kensington and Chelsea, as directed
- To keep fundraising materials up to date
- To prepare and collate information regarding KC fundraising
- To carry out all responsibilities within the philosophy and equal opportunities policy of Chickenshed
- To carry out any other duties that may reasonably fall within the remit of this post
Skills, abilities and experience essential:
- Well organized and efficient
- Excellent computer skills e.g. Word processing, Mail Merge, Email, Excel, Internet, PowerPoint
- Ability to collate data and produce spreadsheets/data tables
- Good written and verbal skills
- Work well as part of a team
- Flexibility with regard to working hours as occasionally there will be a need to attend meetings during the evening for example at fundraising event; periods in the run up to events may be particularly busy.
Desirable:
- Experience of producing and maintaining spreadsheets
- Experience of preparing PowerPoint presentations


The post holder will be responsible to the Business Manager. Due to the nature of your position you may occasionally be required to work additional hours/different days to cover your responsibilities.
This is a part time position, approximately 15 hours a week (Tuesday to Friday mornings – exact hours and times to be agreed with the Business Manager).
