We are working with an international development charity with a small office in London that is recruiting for a Head of Events and Community Fundraising on a maternity cover basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fundraiser looking for a challenge and a chance to work within a passionate team within a growing organisation.
The main duties of the role will include;
- To lead the events and community team strategy including the implementation and monitoring of all activities and budget management
- Manage the events and community fundraising team ensuring performance development meetings take place
- Directly manage the charity's annual high profile gala dinner to ensure maximum funds are raised and to raise the organisations profile
- Assist with the development and implementation of a high value donors programme to maximise the engagement with potential and current supporters
- To promote collaborative working within the fundraising department
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;
- Experience working in the development and coordination of a programme of events and community fundraising
- Proven ability to achieve significant income growth and manage high profile events
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build beneficial relationships with key stakeholders and celebrities
- Experience in defining and delivering strategies / polices with the ability to negotiate and present confidently
- Computer literate will skills in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Demonstrable ability of working in a 'hands on' way in the delivery of events and community fundraising
- Experience managing a team including knowledge of budget setting and management
