CLIC Sargent

 

CLIC Sargent is a Cancer Charity that cares for children and young people across the UK. 

 

The purpose of the role is to support CLIC Sargent’s Helpline by supplying cancer publications to patients, families, CLIC Sargent staff, and others in need of information on childhood cancer.

 

The role will involve carrying out stock checks of publications stored at CLIC Sargent’s head office in Hammersmith, contacting other charities/organisations and order publications when supplies are running low, keeping the publications storage area clean and tidy, mailing out publications to patients, families, professionals and members of the public as required. Also, package leaflets and publications ready for posting out.

 

For this role you will need to have an organised approach to work, good attention to detail and good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

 

Through this opportunity you will develop a good knowledge of national UK cancer publications as well as the wider work of the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity and gain useful experience of working on a national helpline.  You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have supported patients and families affected by childhood cancer who are in need of information.  You will be provided with full training and support in this role and working alongside a friendly team of staff and volunteers in their  head office.

 

This role is due to start as soon as possible from 12th July 2010, for up to 6 months. You can volunteer for 3-5 hours per day, Monday-Friday 9am – 5pm.  You can choose the days and times that suit you, depending on your availability.

 

It will be based at the Head Office in Hammersmith, out of pocket expenses can be reimbursed and you do not need a CRB for this post.
