The purpose of this role is to form a local CLIC Sargent support group to help raise vital funds for children and families affected by cancer.
Your role with involve forming a group of enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a passion for making a difference to the lives of children with cancer. You will be organising fundraising events and activities in your community to raise vital funds, for this you will be given plenty of support, ideas and resources from your local community fundraising manager. The role would also include raising the profile of CLIC Sargent in your local area and develop new contacts to expand your group using existing local contacts, such as family and friends. For this role you must have the passion and drive to help children with cancer and their families, also a creative and organised approach to putting on events and activities in your local area.
Don’t worry if you haven’t already formed a group like this before! CLIC Sargent will provide you with all the information, advice, ideas and resources you’ll need to get going. You’ll gain valuable experience in organising events and activities and working with your local media to raise the charity profile and publicise your events. You will also gain insight into the work of CLIC Sargent in supporting children with cancer and their families.
The role is flexible and you can give as much or as little time as you are able and you can volunteer at times that suit you. You will be based in Inverness area, located at home – If you are based near one of our UK offices; you have the opportunity to meet with your community fundraising manager at your nearest office.
Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed and a CRB (Criminal Records check) will be organised for you.
