Missing People
Missing People provides support for missing children, vulnerable adults and families left in limbo. Last year the charity responded to more than 100,000 please for help. During the last 15 years they have found and reunited thousands of people. Now, through their research and policy activity they are developing their role as an authoritative and campaigning voice on the missing issue.
The team is responsible for income generation and relationship building with trusts, foundations and statutory funders. Roles within the team offer ambitious volunteer fundraisers and administrators the chance to gain significant knowledge in a supportive and friendly environment. We look for bright, motivated people who are inspired by our cause and willing to ‘go the extra mile’ to raise awareness and income.
The role will involve carrying out desk-based research of new potential grant-givers/donors, refreshing the existing mailing list with up-to-date details (using The Raiser’s Edge database system), assisting in writing high-quality appeal or update letter templates and oversee the mail-out of appeals and supporting the team with research, administrative tasks and other duties.
For this role you need to have a ‘can do’ attitude, excellent computer skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel, familiarity with Raiser’s Edge or other similar database would be a real advantage, methodical approach with a good eye of detail, excellent level of literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
Volunteers will be required during the week, a shift of a minimum of 1 day every week would be preferred. You will be based in South West London and flexible arrangements can be made to suit volunteer’s commitments. Travel expenses will be reimbursed and lunch expenses will be reimbursed if volunteering more than 4 hours per day.
