TPP are working exclusively with the Surrey Wildlife Trust to assist them in their recruitment campaign for an Education Centre Manager
Surrey Wildlife Trust are dedicated to protecting Surrey's wildlife and play a vital role in delivering the important message of nature and conservation to the young people of Surrey. They are seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational Manager to take this work forward. Working with a dedicated and motivated education team over 3 teaching sites, you will be responsible for the continued development of high quality courses on wildlife education.
Responsibilities will include:
Development and delivery of curriculum linked courses and informal education activities at the Educational Nature Reserves
Teach engaging courses with high scientific content to young people
Develop and implement the centres strategy
Plan and enhance the wildlife strategy of the reserves by managing them with sound ecological principles
Plan for and engage in conservation activities and projects, training and developing the Education team and volunteers.
Develop and expand Adult education by providing a range of interesting and engaging wildlife courses
You will have:
Minimum of 3 years managing or working within a nature or environmental education centre, Science or Geography department or equivalent
The ability to demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to natural history education and outdoor learning.
Line management and budgetary experience
Be educated to degree level or equivalent
Knowledge of environmental education techniques and best practice methods for engaging children in outdoor learning
A full UK driving licence
