My client is an international humanitarian charity working in advocacy/campaigning, lobbying, cutting edge research, and policy development. They are looking for a Director of Finance and Operations to be responsible for leading and managing the effective delivery of core support functions across the organisation, including international and regional offices.
The Director of Finance and Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership and oversight over finances and the operational side of the regionalization process. He/she will manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of all support services (Finance, HR, IT, Admin & Fundraising), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and programmatic functions. This position requires strategic skills and long term vision combined with a willingness and ability to provide hands-on and operational support to staff.
The ideal candidate will have a financial qualification, broad corporate resources management, international experience (managing regional offices), strong system skills and an understanding of the requirements of donors. Preferably this will have been gained in the not-for-profit sector.
