CLIC Sargent

CLIC Sargent is a Cancer Charity that cares for Children and Young People across the UK.

The purpose of the role is to assist the charity with a report to be published highlighting the long travelling times experienced by children and young people with cancer and their families.  To support CLIC Sargent’s campaigning, policy and public affairs activities.  To learn about Parliament, policy making and campaigning, and to gain hands-on experience in this exciting field.

The role will involve research and reporting, drafting survey questions, interviewing and liaising with service users about their experiences, drafting copy for the publication, publicising the report and it’s findings among Parliamentary audiences and assisting with the press launch and/or event.

You will also support the campaigning, policy and public affairs activities and particularly the development of policy position for the charity.

This role would suit someone who can pick up new things quickly and is happy to work on their own initiative. An awareness of cancer or childhood cancer would be helpful

You will help enable CLIC Sargent to effectively act as the voice of children and young people with cancer across policy and Parliamentary audiences.  You will develop the essential skills and experience needed for a career in the field of campaigns and public affairs and have the opportunity to network with other interns on the scheme.

CLIC Sargent will provide full induction, training and one-to-one support for you in your role, offer you training and development opportunities, as appropriate.  They will also run a tailored workshop on CV & application writing, interview techniques and job seeking for all interns on the scheme

You need to be available from 6th September – 3rd December for 2-3 days/week (days and hours are negotiable) and be based in Hammersmith.

Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
