Director of Fundraising Jobs

Responsibilities & duties for Directors of Fundraising

A Head of Fundraising will provide strategic leadership, management and coordination for all income generating activities in order to support a charity’s operations, programmes or services delivery. Most Fundraising Director jobs involve direct responsibility for some fundraising, particularly major gifts, although the focus is more about strategy and management.

Skills required for Directors of Fundraising

Experience of income generation with a track record of delivering against targets is the key to success in most Fundraising Director jobs as well as being a specialist in as many income streams as possible. Although generally no formal qualifications are required, organisations such as the Institute of Fundraising offer formal qualifications which can be advantageous.
