Apply for the latest financial director jobs in charities and not for profit organisations
As a leading charity and not for profit recruitment consultancy, TPP has been successfully sourcing some the most challenging finance director jobs in the sector for over a decade. We have built a team of recruitment consultants with extensive experience in the third sector that have been offering career advice and services for a range of senior appointments. Our finance director jobs come from the entire breadth of the not for profit sector, including International NGO’s, UK-facing health charities, membership bodies, foundations and education.
The Director of Finance (or Chief Financial Officer) is responsible for all of the finances of the organisation including statutory reporting requirements such as Annual Reports and SIR statements. Depending on the size of the team, there will often be the need to be quite hands-on as well as being a key member of the SMT, involved with strategy and board; a key relationship is with your Treasurer. More so than ever, a formal qualification is required as governance rules tighten, and a Charity Accounting qualification or an MBA are also sought after. Challenges specific to the sector are donor reporting requirements, SORP (charity FRS), and budgeting techniques such as Full Cost Recovery. There are several support groups for FDs such as the CFDG.
