Friday 27th February- National Safeguarding Day

By Kristina Preston on 25 Feb 2015

The National Council for Voluntary Youth Services is calling on all children and youth organisations to make the last weekday of February the one day every year where organisations Stop what they are doing, Look at their safeguarding practices and Listen to young people, empowering them to take an active role in managing their own safety.

NCVYS’s new national safeguarding campaign aims to inspire and encourage children and youth organisations to show commitment to improving their safeguarding policies and standards.

As part of TPP’s Pledge to National Safeguarding Day, we are updating our website to include a specialist page for people looking to work in the sector with young people and vulnerable adults. The page will provide them with a guide to the extra compliance checks which will need to be completed, such as DBS checks and the update service, additional references, as well as information on the new Disqualification by Association criteria.

Why not check out NCVYS’s website to see what ourselves and other organisations have pledged as well as submit your own?

As a recruitment consultancy specialising in working with third, public and education sectors, TPP take our responsibilities to both our clients and candidates very seriously.  We are members of the REC and have achieved REC Audited Status, the gold standard for recruitment, which demonstrates our adherence to the highest standards in customer service and regulation compliance.

Many of our consultants are enrolled on the Institute of Recruitment Professionals Advocacy scheme to ensure that they stay up to date with all the latest legislation and deploy best practice.

We have also been awarded the Investors in People Standard for the way we develop, support and motivate our internal staff, as we feel it’s important that our internal practices live up to the standards we set for our candidates and clients.

All of our candidates are checked for their right to work in the UK, referenced and DBS-checked where appropriate and pay us no fees whatsoever, so you can be satisfied that using TPP guarantees the highest possible standard of recruitment, both for you and for your future employees.
